Been wrestling with this all day - when building my kernel, with a very small number of tweaks, the amdgpu drivers fail to load. Or rather, they do load, but then are unable to function as expected. I don't know if it's something weird with my .config or a missing puzzle piece.
My .config: https://paste.gmem.ca/paste/d7bbc962-48ac-4449-b515-686b1fffc1bc
A dmesg log from a boot where it fails to load: https://paste.gmem.ca/paste/05b54591-fcf7-40a3-ba02-47e0fb54dc8d
Looking at it, it seems like it can't read the EDIDs of my monitors, but I can't figure out *why* or how to dig deeper to get closer to solving this.
I'm trying to solve issues I've been having with amdgpu and my AMD Ryzen 9 7900X integrated graphics (I have a discreet GPU, but it's allocated to a virtual machine), with it often freezing/resetting/crashing, and figured that upgrading my kernel might help (despite the changelogs not mentioning any notable changes for my situation). |

A quick update - as it turns out, it was `sys-kernel/linux-firmware-20250613` that broke! I've downgraded to `sys-kernel/linux-firmware-20250410` and can boot just fine.
Time will tell if this helps with the random resets, but that's a seperate issue. |
