This is shocking... but there's so much genuinely shocking stuff happening at the moment that it's a drop in the ocean and nobody who isn't directly affected is likely to care very much. Broader economic issues aside, I hope Gentoo isn't badly hurt if OSL shuts down. I always imagined Gentoo's infrastructure to be quite distributed, and robust for that reason, but from this news item it sounds like this could really hurt.

Is this due to Trump's admin? Though I suspect so, I didn't find any direct relation.

As the OSL post hints at, the school of engineering has been partially funding the lab for a number of years.
The time has come when the bill is too high.
It has nothing to do with anyones local politics.
Political discussions are off topic on the forums, since OTW went away.
